We're Back! Book Cover
In the 1980s, plans for a film adaptation of Hudson Talbott's children's book, We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story. Hanna-Barbera was the first company to contact Hudson Talbott about obtaining rights to it.


The plot would have been the same as the book.

Why It Was Cancelled[]

  • It didn't make sense to them.


  • John Musker and Ron Clements were also interested in adapting the book for Walt Disney Feature Animation, as a potential project after The Little Mermaid, but was cancelled all together.
  • Amblimation & Universal Pictures released the film on November 24, 1993, but was a box office failure, despite all the praise it got.
