Untitled third Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film (2010s)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3 was a planned Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film in the Platinum Dunes series, to be released following the 2014 and 2016 films.

In late-October 2016, it was announced the project had been cancelled. In Mid June 2018, it was announced that Platinum Dunes would release another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film.

Plot

Would Place Take Events After Out Of The Shadows would have Baxter Stockman as a fly mutant was excepted to appear.

Why It Was Cancelled

1. The first 2 films were criticized by critics, the public and fans, despite Out of the Shadows being considered a slight improvement over its predecessor.
2. Out of the Shadows underperformed at the box office. Paramount and Viacom lost money because of the film's disappointing performance.

Results

• The Michael Bay’ TMNT ended up being a duology.
• Instead, it was announced in mid-June 2018 that another Platinum Dunes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film would be released. It will serve as a reboot to the Turtles franchise. Currently, back in 2020, it was revealed that it will be the second animated TMNT film following the 2007 TMNT film from Imagi. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are expected to be involved.
• Plus, in 2018, a new TMNT series titled, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was released and aired from 2018-2020 and two years after Season 2, the series gained a movie which was released on Netflix in August 2022.
• An animated film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was released on August 2nd, 2023, which Seth Rogen also co-star in.
