While Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman was being made in 2003, Warner Bros. hired Boyd Kirkland to write a direct-to-video Catwoman film as a tie-in with the 2004 live-action film of the same name. However, Warner Bros. canceled the film due to the poor reception that the film received.
