As early as 1996, The Japanese Sonic the Hedgehog inspired show Sonic OVA was planned to actually be a 2-hour movie rather than a two-part show combined in one with it's two episodes "Welcome to Eggmanland" and "Sonic vs. Metal Sonic". There were also more planned episodes for the show rather than two.
Plot[]
The plot would be the same like the two-episodes for the combined film, but with multiple more parts.
Why It Was Cancelled[]
- Unfortunately, the reviews from Japanese people were not that good, so it didn't solo enough to warn more parts made.
- General Entertainment were busy with other projects.
Results[]
- The movie version of Sonic OVA was permanently cancelled.
- The original version of Sonic OVA remained separated in two episodes with only 27 minutes long.
