Sometime after the release of the 2014 RoboCop remake, MGM, Columbia Pictures and Sony planned on making a sequel with the cast reprising their roles. However, the studios cancelled the sequel in September 2015.
The plot is currently unknown.
Why It Was Cancelled
- The first (and only) RoboCop reboot film failed at the box office and received very negative reviews from both critics and fans.
- The sequel was permanently cancelled.
- MGM is currently working on RoboCop Returns, a direct continuation of the original RoboCop. However, it is currently unknown when the film will be released and who is starring in it.
