Cancelled Movies. Wiki

Note: Please do not mark this for deletion. This film WAS going to be made by Disney. And if you don't believe me, just look up "McScam"!, and if that still isn't enough, go check on news articles for the proof!

Monopoly is a cancelled crime film adaption of the well-known board games of the same name. It would of been a potential adaptation by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon of the 2001 Monopoly McDonalds crime conspiracy. It was going to be made by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

It would have told the story of how ex-cop Jerome Paul Jacobson rigged the McDonald’s Monopoly game in 2001, allegedly working with organised crime to steal millions of dollars and ensure nobody won the game's biggest prizes.

Why It Was Cancelled[]

  1. Disney rejected the project because they thought a crime film wouldn't be good for their company.
  2. When Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, a large chunk of their movies had to be cancelled.
  3. Jermaine Jackson had a demonstrable lack of interest of being involved in the project.

  • The Monopoly film from Disney was permanently cancelled.
  • Monopoly will likely only remain as a board game series, with no animation movies at all.
  • In 2019, Kevin Hart signed up to making an animated Monopoly film for Lionsgate, however, it is not known if the film is still in development, as the film's last update was in 2019.
