In August 2008, Daily Mail has announced that Dora the Explorer will receive older fans with a makeover like in somewhere in 2010 in honor of the show's 10th anniversary. Before that, on February 18 of the same year, a user named wayshway posted on TVPast Forums that rumored that said show will have said film but a primetime with CG effects.[1]

- Mothers across US said that the character should be at a tween age, just because they wanted to keep her around for their aging daughters

- A makeover was revealed in late 2009 that would fit for the Dora Links toys and website.
- Said makeover appeared on the Dora's Christmas Carol special where Dora and Swiper meet older versions of themselves.
- This version was also appeared on a website called Dora Links and the main website of the Explorer Girls franchise, also rumors said that there were shorts that aired on Nick Jr. and Nickelodeon during weekday mornings on its Nick Jr. blocks from 2009 to 2012, plus two music videos about Alana and Emma, the Naiya and Kate music videos were unreleased and a unused CGI opening theme.
- A documentary movie was aired on August 15, 2010,
- The pilot movie, Our First Concert was released.
- A spinoff titled Dora and Friends: Into the City! was aired featuring the Explorer Girls in a brand new look after 5 years.
- Two live-action movies have been released, one cinematic, and one Paramount+-exclusive.
