Cancelled Movies. Wiki

Tusker was a planned animated feature from DreamWorks and Pacific Data Images (PDI). It was to be directed by Tim Johnson and Brad Lewis, the respected co-director and producer of Antz, and was to be the company's third CGI film after the latter and Shrek.

The film would chronicle a herd of elephants crossing southeast Asia. In their travels, they encounter a wide variety of dangers, including a band of marauding poachers.

Why It Was Cancelled

  1. DreamWorks decided to put it aside to make way for Shrek 2 and Madagascar.

The rights were sold to Hong Kong animation studio Imagi Animation Studios in 2008, which was to be produced by Brooke Breton and written by Ted Hally, with a release date set for the first half of 2011. But the film was cancelled following Imagi's closure in 2010.
