Treasure Planet 2 was a planned sequel to Treasure Planet. It was intended to be directed by Jun Falkenstein.
Plot[]
The plot is about Jim Hawkins and Kate, his love interest and classmate at the Royal Interstellar Academy must team up with Long John Silver to stop the villainous Ironbeard from freeing the inmates of Botany Bay Prison Asteroid.
Why It Was Cancelled[]
- The original film, while generally well received by critics and audiences proved to be a massive box office disappointment, due to heavy competition against films like The Santa Clause 2, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Die Another Day and The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.
Results[]
- Because of the poor box office results, there did not seem to be any reason to proceed with the sequel or television series intended to follow afterwards.
- Treasure Planet remains as a stand-alone film.
