Cancelled Movies. Wiki

The Power of Six was originally a planned follow up to the 2011 film adaptation of I Am Number Four. It would have continued the story set in place by its predecessor of the Lorien Four continuing his fight against the malevolent Mogadorians, alongside new allies Six and Sam, as he and his two companions search for other numbered members of the Lorien race and their Protectors residing on Earth while Sam continues his search for his missing father Malcolm who was abducted by the Mogadorians years prior.

Why It Was Cancelled[]

  1. Terrible Predecessor. This is the main reason why The Power of Six was never made. I Am Number Four, its predecessor released on February 18, 2011, was originally intended to be the start of a would-be young adult movie franchise based on the Lorien Legacies book series that would follow in the footsteps brought about by the success of the film adaptations of Twilight and Harry Potter. It would have seen Alex Pettyfer reprise his role as Four along with Teresa Palmer and Callan McAuliffe as Six and Sam. Given that the novel focused on Six's character, it would have seen her play a more prominent role in the film just like as in the book. However, because I Am Number Four was heavily panned by critics and audiences for its poor acting, its bland and forgettable storyline, and mediocre special effects, along with it flopping at the box office, these issues caused Dreamworks Pictures to shelve a film adaptation of The Power of Six along with the rest of the Lorien Legacies books.
