James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC and pause on development on the movie, but then announced a new Supergirl movie based on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow simply titled Supergirl the same name as the 1984 movie that started Helen Slater and then recasting Sasha Calle from The Flash with Milly Alcock releasing in June 26, 2026.
