- On June 16, 2016, Netflix and the Weinstein Company announced an animated CGI reboot of the Spy Kids film series titled Spy Kids: Mission Critical, which was released in 2018.
- Robert Rodriguez would work on a reimagining to the original Spy Kids franchise titled Spy Kids: Armageddon, which was the original title for Spy Kids: All the Time in the World.
