In 2008, EA and AIG announced that there were plans for an adaptation of the video game Spore. It was scheduled for a 2009 release. Chris Wedge was hired to direct.

Why It Was Cancelled[]
- The film was in development hell in 2019, During then, the game’s fanbase was pretty much dead. The film was canceled.

• The film was canceled entirely because of years of development for a film.
• Blue Sky, unfortunately was closed by Disney to cut costs, there were many films being developed.
• So far, Spore is just a main game, it is unlikely that it will receive a sequel or new spin-off, since Will Wright (founder of Maxis), left Maxis in 2009, so far, he has not received any game related to Spore since 2015, only rip-offs.
