Sonic The Hedgehog was supposed to be released in November 2019, and Sonic was supposed to have a different design.
Why It Was Cancelled[]
- The release of the first teaser trailer was panned by critics, the public and fans.
- Sega, as well as Sonic fans, and his creator were disgusted with the original design.
What If It Wasn't Cancelled[]
- It would have been universally lambasted by critics, audiences, review aggregators. Plus all review aggregators would have given it a 0, or a 1.
- The movie would have been bombed at the box office, and it would also have been such a commercial flop that had to be removed worldwide and never see the light of day.
- Sega would have not only banned Paramount from adapting Sega's video games into movies, but prevent them from being partners permanently.
- The movie would never receive sequels which are released in 2022 and 2024.
Results[]
- The original version was cancelled.
- Sonic was given a redesign.
- It was delayed to February 2020 due to the redesign of Sonic.
- Sonic The Hedgehog 2 was released in April 2022 and Sonic The Hedgehog 3 was released in December 2024. Sonic The Hedgehog 4 will be released in March 2027.
- This version of Sonic appeared in the 2022 film Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers, where he was known as ''Ugly Sonic''.
