In 2015, 20th Century Fox is making a deal with Hasbro Studios along with its subsidiary company Allspark Pictures and Chernin Entertainment producing, Jason Micallef writing, and Paul Feig directing from his production company Feigco.

Why It Was Cancelled[]

  1. Plundering of Hasbro's rights has that they have lost much of their ideas, despite Paul Feig being enthusiastic about it.
  2. Its budget may have been a little too high for 20th Century Fox to own.
  3. The acquisition of Fox's parent company 21st Century Fox by The Walt Disney Company.

Results[]

  • Playdoh remained as a toy brand.
  • To pretend like it's a Playdoh movie at the moment, there's a actual Playdoh show called The Playdoh Show.
  • 20th Century Fox's film adaptation was permanently cancelled.
  • On March 17, 2022, it was announced that a new animated film adaptation is in development at Entertainment One and its parent company Hasbro, Emily V. Gordon writing and Jon M. Chu producing and possibly directing
