In 2005, DreamWorks announced they wanted to purchase the rights to make a film adaptation of Stephan Pastis' comic strip of the same name Pearls Before Swine.[1]

The plot would be the same as the comics.
Development[]
Between 2005 and 2006 DreamWorks bought the rights to the comic strips shortly before they released their adaption of Over the Hedge (2006). Other development details have been very scarce ever since 2006.
Why It Was Cancelled[]
- DreamWorks Animation was busy with Over the Hedge at the time.
- The source material was too surreal for DreamWorks.
Results[]
- The film was permanently cancelled, and Pearls Before Swine remains as a comic series.
