Muncle Trogg

In March 2011, Sony Pictures Animation had acquired the movie rights to Janet Foxley's children's book Muncle Trogg, the 2010 Times (of London)/Chicken House prize-winner, it was announced today by Bob Osher, president of Sony Pictures Digital Productions and Michelle Raimo-Kouyate, president of production for Sony Pictures Animation. The preemptive deal is Raimo-Kouyate’s first acquisition since her appointment as president of production. Jane Startz, a distinguished producer of family entertainment, is the executive producer. Kane Lee, Jane Startz Productions Inc.’s vice president of development, is co-producer.


Plot[]

A community of giants who live a volcano and centers on a tiny giant (which makes him human-sized) laughed at for his size. He ends up saving his family in a story that involves a solar-powered dragon, a disgraced brother and a kidnapped child.


Why It Was Cancelled[]

  1. Not much is known why they cancelled it, except for that the character designs were difficult to design.

  • Muncle Trogg remained as a book.
  • The film adaptation was permanently cancelled.
