Cancelled Movies. Wiki

Mary Poppins Comes Back is a cancelled sequel to the 1964 film Mary Poppins with a story by P.L. Travers and Brian Sibley, and screenplay by Brian Sibley.

The story would have been based on the second Mary Poppins book of the same name.

Why It Was Cancelled[]

  1. Though approached by Disney to reprise her role as Mary Poppins, Julie Andrews was uninterested and declined. Sibley has credited this, as well as other casting problems and an executive shake-up at the studio, as possible reasons the film went unproduced.

  • Disney would make an official sequel in 2018 titled Mary Poppins Returns, with Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins, though it is original with no connection to Mary Poppins Comes Back.
