In the 1990s, Amblimation & Universal Pictures planned to adapt Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories into a film after finishing 3 movies such as An American Tail: Fievel Goes West in 1991, We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story in 1993, and Balto in 1995.

Why It Was Cancelled[]
- Amblimation closed its doors in 1997 due to the failure of their last film Balto, therefore everyone involved moved on to DreamWorks.

- Amblimation's take on the story was never made
- Marble Arch/Interama/Strengholt Films, Bevanfield Films, Les Films de l'Arlequin and Je Suis Bien Content made their own adaptations of the book.
