Before Michael Crichton's novel Jurassic Park was published, Hollywood studios were highly interested in purchasing the film rights. This included Warner Bros. and Burton, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Richard Donner, and 20th Century Fox and Joe Dante.
The plot would have been the same as the book.
Why It Was Cancelled
- Universal Pictures acquired the rights in May 1990 for Steven Spielberg.
- Universal Pictures released Jurassic Park in the Summer of 1993.
