Inhumans was a Marvel Studios movie, based on The Inhumans comic stories. It was announced on August 12, 2014, with Vin Diesel teasing he may play a character, rumored to be Black Bolt. It was scheduled to be released on November 2, 2018, but it was removed from the Marvel Studios release schedule.


Development[]

In March 2011, it was revealed through trade report that Marvel Entertainment was developing Inhumans. In November 2012, Stan Lee reported that the film is in development. In August 2014, it was reported that the development was moving forward. By October 2015, Cole was no longer involved with the film and any potential drafts that he may have written would not be used. In April 2016, the film was taken off of Marvel's 2018 release schedule, though it is not considered cancelled.

Why It Was Cancelled[]

  1. The cancellation reasons are unknown.
  2. The Inhumans film was delayed to 2019 due the agreement between Disney and Sony to bring Spider-man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
  3. Kevin Feige announced that the film would be delayed again, after the announcement of Indiana Jones: and the Dial of Destiny.
  4. Disney and Marvel Studios decided to cancel the Inhumans film and remove it from his 2019 release schedule, without giving any reason for the cancellation and Marvel confirmed that the film would become a TV series.

Results[]

  • The film was permanently cancelled and became a TV series.
  • In 2017 a series was released on ABC, it ended after 8 episodes because it was panned by critics and Marvel fans.
  • Kevin Feige say that the Inhumans film was scheduled to be released on Phase Four of the MCU.
