Cancelled Movies. Wiki

In the 1990s, Tim Burton was attached to produce a Goosebumps film that was going to be made by 20th Century Fox & DreamWorks. However, when Chris Meledandri was president of Fox Family Films, he stated that Tim would "see us tackling a scale of story that would be prohibitive to do on the small screen".

The plot is currently unknown.

Why it Was Cancelled[]

  1. It did not materialize since they could not find a script they liked or determine which book or monster to adapt. It was rumored the original Slappy prop from the 1995 series was going to be used for a film (Possibly a adaptation of the first Night Of The Living Dummy book.) But the prop is now lost and it's unknown if it was for Burton's adaptation. However a prop of Slappy was later found surviving in one Youtube video.

  • Columbia Pictures & Sony Pictures Animation along with LStar Capital, Village Roadshow Pictures, Original Film, & Scholastic Entertainment made a Goosebumps movie in 2015 and Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween in 2018.
