Gatchaman was going to be a CGI animated film produced by Imagi Studios. The film was going to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and the Weinstein Company[1] and was set for release in 2011. It is based on the anime "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman" (which has had many alternative titles throughout the years) by Tatsuo Yoshida, also known for creating "Speed Racer".

Why It Was Cancelled []
- Kevin Munroe, the director of the film left the project on April 2008 due to creative differences.[2] Additionally, Jun Falkenstein signed on to direct the film shortly after, but also left the project.
- In 2010, after the box office failure of the 2009 film Astro Boy, Imagi Studios was shut down.
