Five Nights at Freddy's was an upcoming American survival horror fan film based on the video game series of the same name, serving as the first installment in the Five Nights at Freddy's fan film trilogy. It was produced by Gabriel Combs Movies, DylangamerTV Films (in their film debut), and ScottGames, with YouTube Originals distributing. The film would've followed the events of the fourth game, taking place in 1983, and revolving around Evan Afton, the youngest child in the Afton family, as he would have to survive a week against a group of "nightmare" animatronics.

The cast consisted of Dylan Bond, Lennon Richardson, Kellen Goff, Eric D. Ward, Gabriel Combs, Tim Simmons, David Near, Amber Lee Connors, Aleks Le, and Matthew Curtis, with Dave Steele and Scott Cawthon featured in supporting roles. While Bond, Richardson, and Combs appear physically in the film, the voices of Goff, Ward, Simmons, Near, Connors, Le, Curtis, Steele, and Cawthon were archive voice recordings from the game, with an AI recreation of Steele's voice being used for new lines created for the film.

It was set to be followed by two sequels: Five Nights at Freddy's 2 and Five Nights at Freddy's 3.

In the year of 1983, a popular family entertainment restaurant named Fredbear's Family Diner has opened and Fazbear Entertainment has begun business. On the week of his birthday, the youngest child in the Afton family, Evan, must learn to defend himself from four animatronics — Nightmare Freddy, Nightmare Bonnie, Nightmare Chica and Nightmare Foxy—for five nights.
