Cancelled Movies. Wiki

Driftwood was a planned Space-related family adventure comedy opera film that was to be distributed by Cartoon Network Studios and to be released on the streaming service HBO Max.[1]

In a decaying forest civilization dependent upon a toxic fuel source and ruled by an evil organization. Clover, a tiny mouse-like creature, races across the stars to find Driftwood, society’s last free city which may hold the key to a safe and sustainable fuel source and future for the galaxy. The evil overlord Thorn will stop at nothing to eliminate Clover and destroy Driftwood in order to maintain their power. Clover, and his new friends Marigold and Caspia, must make a stand to stop them once and for all and save their forest on the edge of infinity.

The film was greenlit on May 5, 2022 by Aquaman: King of Atlantis co-creator Victor Courtright.[2]

Why It Was Cancelled[]

  1. Due to David Zaslav's step-in as the Warner Bros Discovery CEO, the WB-Discovery merger that happened on April 2022 resulted in many layoffs and shows/films leaving HBO Max (Now Max), along with cancelling a couple of their upcoming films and shows, these cancelled films include not just Driftwood, but also Scoob! Holiday Haunt, Coyote Vs. Acme and Batgirl. Which leds to a lawsuit in September 2022 alleging David Zaslav and other executives inflated HBO Max streaming subscriptions ahead of Warner Bros. merger with Discovery, duping “hundreds of thousands” of shareholders.

  • The film was permanently cancelled.
  • Due to cancelling upcoming projects, WB Discovery has lost billions of dollars for it's shameful amount of cancellations.
