Crusade is an unreleased big-budget epic drama war film that was originally set for a release sometime in 1994. It were to star Arnold Schwarzenegger and be directed by Paul Verhoeven. And it were to be made by studios TriStar Pictures and Carolco.


It were to focus on the murderous attack of the Christians on the Arabs and the Jews.

Why It Was Cancelled[]

  1. It went through budget productions. specifically thus ran high in the meeting stages with Carolco. The costs were bloating to beyond $100 million.
  2. Schwarzenegger himself confirmed in an interview with Empire. He related how when asked what his guarantees were that costs would not worth it.
  3. TriStar Pictures, the aside company who was supposed to release the film, went out of business on July 11, 1990.
  4. Cutthroat Island was a box-office failure. So Carolco agreed to pay 20th Century Fox their $50 million.
