Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 3 was a proposed sequel to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. It would have been a future installment in the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs franchise.

A day after the film's release, Cody Cameron discussed the possibility of a third film, saying "I don't know that will happen, we're going to have to see what it does on September 27th, I definitely think we've set up enough character, basically enough stuff in the second film that we can branch off and do multiple stories for a third film – but you know it's kind of hard to think about that right now."
On August 14, 2013, Cody Cameron tweeted on Twitter that an idea for a third film was already in the works.

- On January 13, 2014, Cody Cameron responded to a question on Twitter that the sequel was no longer going to happen, at least "not in the rainy future".
- Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the people who directed the first movie, were busy working on The Lego Movie.

- The Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs film franchise ended up being a duology.

Possible Revival[]
In September 2023, Phil Lord stated that a script was completed for a third installment before the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, entitled "Planet of the Grapes", which was a direct reference to Planet of the Apes.
Later, in April 2024, an Investor Day Presentation from Sony is released. This presentation mentions this movie.
Those 2 indicate that this movie might will be revived, be in early development, or that Sony Pictures Animation still has plans to do another one.
