A film based off of the first-person shooter franchise, Call of Duty was announced in 2015 with the intent of creating a Call of Duty cinematic universe. This film was planned to be released in either 2018 or 2019.

Plot[]

As little information regarding the film exists, the plot remains unknown. It is, however, fair to assume that the film's plot may have been based off of one of the games, such as the Modern Warfare and Black Ops series.

Development[]

Stefano Sollima was announced as the film's director, with Scott Silver writing the script.

Why It Was Cancelled[]

  1. The exact reason as to why the film was cancelled is unknown. However, in an interview in 2020, Stefano Sollima stated that films were "no longer a priority for Activision".

Result[]

  • The film goes unmade, with Activision focusing their attention on their free to play battle-royale video game, Call of Duty: Warzone.
