Batman Year One is a cancelled live-action adaptation of the Frank Miller novel by Darren Aronofsky. Development/production was supposed to begin in 2000 to 2002.

Why It Was Cancelled[]

  • Warner Bros. thought the script was too dark.

Results[]

  • The film was re-written and became Batman Begins in 2003 and was released in 2005.
  • Darren Aronofsky would later go on and direct the 2006 film The Fountain with Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz which was also made by Warner Bros. after leaving Batman: Year One.
