According to animator Edison Goncalves on his blog, 20th Century Fox & Fox Animation Studios had plans to do an animated film adaptaion of Jules Verne's 1872 novel, Around the World in Eighty Days but with anthropomorphic animals.

Why It Was Cancelled[]

  1. Fox Animation Studios shut down in 2000 after the box office failure of Titan A.E.

  • In 2004, a film was made, loosely based on the book, starring Steve Coogan and Jackie Chan in the roles of Fogg and Passepartout respectively. The adaptation bears less resemblance to the book. The film was nominated for two Razzie Awards.
